Love in the Ice - TVXQ |
] |
Just a selection of quotes because sometimes staring at icons just isn't enough:
If I had a single flower for every time I think about you, I could walk forever in my garden. ~Claudia Ghandi
I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read and all the friends I want to see. -John Burroughs
Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh!" he whispered. "Yes, Piglet?" "Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you." -A.A. Milne
My thoughts are free to go anywhere, but it's surprising how often they head in your direction. -Author Unknown
When we're together or when we're apart, you're first in my thoughts and first in my heart. -Author Unknown
I'm glad it's almost the weekend, I can hardly believe that it's been since before Valentine's Day really... Life is good, but can be too full sometimes.

I can't believe how busy I've been lately...busy doing a lot of nothing. It seems as if whole days pass and I fill them to completion, but at the end I can barely recall what it was that made the time slip by so quickly. It bugs me because time is the most precious gift we have here on this planet. The only one that is known to be completely limited in our lives. Therefore, when we give it to someone we are giving them a part of our lives here on earth...a part of ourselves even, if you want to see it that way. So, it makes me frustrated that I can't seem to account for a lot of mine. Yeah, it's important to give certain amounts of it to school, but the rest I want to make meaningful by spending it with those I care about, doing things that I can at least call somewhat meaningful.
I keep asking myself if I've turned that boring. It's been ages since I've simply gone out with a good friend for ramen, or stayed up half the night baking cookies. Heck, I'd even go hill rolling again (you're not invited Yoochun. :D) Oh well, I'm sure I'll kick the boring one of these days here soon. It's not like I don't ever do fun things, they just seem fewer and farther between.
In other Junno news, I have one other thing that is driving me up a wall. You may think its stupid, but to me it's really frustrating. I actually don't like someone. I've found someone that just absolutely grates on my nerves. I don't even really know them, it's just some of the things they've done bug the heck out of me. I know, sounds stupid- big deal- you don't like someone. Well, for me it is. I like to try and see the best in everyone and for once, I'm not doing it. Of course I'll be nothing but kind and civil, but still.. it just.. ugh.
Okay, I'm done rambling now- lunch hour is almost over.

Everything - Lifehouse |

I think today is one of those days I can't stop smiling. I would love to say I'd miss everyone while I'm gone, but right now I can't say that's the truth.
Oh, and because I totally can't get it out of my head, I'm going to leave you with a link to this song. Everything by Lifehouse

Sounds of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel |
] |
Okay, I've been running so tired lately I can barely think. Soon I'm going to need that coffee I despise to keep my head up in the morning.
Anyway, a few things:
1. I'm shocked (and honored), I get to be in two weddings now. Little wonders never cease. 2. Trying to cause a fight with your boyfriend only ends up with mass amounts of laughter (and really bad acting on my part). 3. I'm sorry if I'm behind on my f-list. I seem to be so busy lately I can't keep my head on straight. 4. I'm going away this weekend, I'm taking my phone but leaving it off. So you can leave me a message if you need to. Plus, I'll probably check my journal in the evenings.
Now for a few not so random Quotes:
Never pretend to a love which you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command. Alan Watts
The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed. Carl Jung (1875 - 1961)
All love that has not friendship for its base, is like a mansion built upon sand. Ella Wheeler Wilcox
Love is the difficult realization that something other than oneself is real. Iris Murdoch
...yes, you get four because I haven't done them in a while. I think that's all for tonight. I'm going too sleep now before my forehead ends up with computer keys imprinted on it.

Rhapsody in Blue - George Gershwin |
] |
I'm always amazed at the power of music. One song can change my mood or intensify it. If I'm feeling down, the right song can pick me up or move my heart enough to help me through whatever problem I'm facing at the time. When I'm up, it never fails to make me smile even more...yes, I can smile more. :D
I've always thought that there are just some people who have music inside them. They appreciate it for the sheer beauty of it's existence. It's hard to exactly explain what I mean by this, but those who have the gift of music will know exactly what I'm talking about. It's more than just appreciation of music, it's being able to feel it, allowing it to move you even if it's not music that you would usually listen to.
Yesterday was just one of those days where nothing seemed to go right. It was nothing major, just all the little things - like spilling hot chocolate on myself right after I woke up- that made me want to go back to bed and start the day over. But last night, I got to go down to the dance studio, turn on a good song and dance my heart out. It took away all my worries and minor problems and put a smile on my face.
Rhapsody in Blue
Above is a small clip of one of my favorite classical songs, Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. The original composition is much longer. But even this short bit of it still moves me. It was composed in something like eight hours while Gershwin was on a train. If you listen closely you can feel the movement of the train as the journey progresses. Gershwin was one of those people who was not only able to feel music, but he was able to then put it down on paper and share it with others. It always amazes me when I listen to it, so I thought I'd share it.
Here are links to the full song below if you want to take the time to listen to it (it's done in two parts): Full song: Part 1 Full song: Part 2

Just a note...
Waterguns should NOT be allowed during snowball fights. They give an unfair advantage. Freezing your opponent to death is not a good way to win. I don't ever think I'll be warm again.
At least we managed to make a snowman though!! 8D
